The scheme is a sub-division that divided the original house in 2 parts as seen on the street side. The original house remains, but has been extended in a way that maintains the original look although a more modern styling has been introduced more as seen on the extended build .

The planning of the 2 units was designed in such a way to capitalize on the mountain view, but at the same time screen the noise of traffic on the busy Newlands Avenue.

The extension been in a similar style to the original house, is a good example of maintaining the heritage value of the original house.
